Chanino La Guitarra
Buenos tardes!! This week has been packed with adventure! Kinda. So Last Monday after I wrote my email, one of the Elders in our district found out he had covid. So all of our district had to quarentine for 3 days. I was not too thrilled about that.
Tuesday came, and it was pretty borning we just stayed at the apartment till like 3ish. I just studied through that whole time. Then at 4 my comp wanted us to get tested, I also wasnt thrilled about that. I hate getting the stick shoved up my nose. It is not to fun. We get to the first farmacia, and I find out that the Covid test cost about 20 dollers, so I was happy to find out they where closed. We then went to 3 more farmacias, and they all wouldnt take us. That was also a blessing. I have the Covid shot, so I didnt want to pay 20$ to get something shoved up my nose. We then got the news that we didnt need the test if we didnt feel sick. We also could end our quarentine If we felt good. That was amazing News!
After we heard the news about our early get out of jail free card, we had a zone meeting. Something majical happend that day. Our zone meeting was by a music Shop, so me and Elder Chan stoped by real Quick. In the store, a guitar called my name. And now I have Chanino la guitarra! He had made my life do much better and more productive! I made a promise that I cant play the guitar unless all of daily goals are complete. So I am Twice as happy and productive! I also found out that I was going on a split the next day, my comp would be one of the Zone leaders Elder Jarvis. ANOTHER AMERICAN!!
The split was a blast! Its Elder Jarvis Last transfer, so he knows spanish! I learned so much from him. I now know how my days are suposed to go. And we taught 2 lessions! It was awesome! My job was to smile, Pray, and give my testimony. The Best part was just talking to someone though. I didnt realize how lonley it is, not knowing spanish. Its like everyone is in on an inside joke. So the split was by far the highlight of the week.
Saturday was also really good too. Olimpio's wife called us and asked if we wanted to come back and teach Olimpio, and Olimpio Jr. Olimpio is Maried to a member. We visited him one time, and he said he knows the gospel too well, so I didnt think he wanted us to come back. Anyway, we where in the lession talking about the spirit. And even though I didnt know what was being said, the spirit was in the room, and I felt it. It was so strong, and it made me remember why I am out here. My Spanish will come with time, so in the mean time I can share the spirit in other ways. Somthing sad then happend. Olimpio got a phone call, so he had to leave the room. His wife then pulled out a three course meal. So when Olimpio came back he just wanted to eat. So we ended the lesson there. We are meeting with him again next week.
Ive gotten the hang of how things are here. And let me tell, México is sooo pretty. I love walking around here, its the Best part. And I have joy most of the days. The mission is really hard, but when I have the spirit with me I am just happy. Its really cool Seeing how that works. I also was reading in preach my gospel, and I found something intresting. In order to get the gift of tounges you have to struggle. I thought that was cool, the struggle is real, but it is needed. I hope everything is going good in your lifes. Keep the commandments and prosper in the land!
