Team Tuxpan!

This was such a good, and fun week! Again we saw so many miracles! I have felt so blessed this transfer, it's been Incredible!     I went on splits twice this week! First with Elder Alfaro. He is a tall Mexican who loves basketball, and is obsessed with Highschool Musical. Literally the whole time I was with him he was singing songs from that movie. Our splits where so fun! I went to Álamo, so he was incharge. Álamo is the only area with Bikes in our mission. So we rode around on our bikes all day! It was so fun to be on a bike, but really difficult. The bike was stuck in the hardest gear for peddling, and the breaks where broken. I found out the breaks where broken while I was flying down a rocky hill, and couldn't stop. I didn't crash luckily, so that was definitely a blessing. In the night Alfaro and me played church ball! At first I wasn't thrilled because I thought it was a bit of a waist of time, but then I found out 6 nonmembers where coming, so I guess I had to ...

6 Months! What A Ride

Image
This week has been packed with adventure! I have also seen so many miracles, my mind has been blown with how much God loves me, and with how much he has been blessing me! I get excited just thinking about how happy the mission makes me! I've been a missionary for 6 months, but yet I feel like I still have no clue what I'm doing. I need more time to master being a missionary. With that being said, I'll jump into this crazy fun week!     I have had an ingrown toe nail for a while now that has got infected. So on Tuesday I went to the doctor and had that taken care of. It wasn't fun. But he told me not to walk for 5 days, so that news was really sad, we have so much to do in our area. I've also been wearing a sandel on that foot all week. I look really goofy. But anyway after I heard the sad news I did what any mature 20 year old would do, and challenged this guy to a one on one basket ball game. Don't worry Mom, I promise I was fine, and more importantly I won! Th...

Luke I’ve Been Thinking About You A Lot Lately.

As it’s soon time for me to graduate and move on with my life i’ve been thinking a lot about people who have changed me. The number one person i think of is you. We may not have been best friends our whole lives, but something about you and your personality left a really big impact on me. You were such a loving and caring person, you were always there when i needed you, always made me smile, you even helped me make all my friends my sophomore year. You helped me through one of worst and darkest times. I was living in my neighbor's spare bedroom for goodness sake. All of that really inspired me to try to just be a better person. To reach out to everyone and to always be kind because you never know what you might have helped someone through. I always called you padre and the more i think about it you seriously were like the dad i never had. So i guess what i’m trying to get at is thanks for all that you’ve done to better and inspire my life. I miss you luke, but i know that your goin...

Be Bold!

Image
Bueno, entonces! Being crazy bold has been the goal this week, and it has been so fun!     President has had some inspiring words for our mission. At Zone Conference President called me up infront of everyone and told me I was Juan Maria, and Catholic. We did a role play where President asked me if I was baptized as a baby. After I said yes he told me my baptism was invalid, and read Moroni 8: 10, 11. Then asked me If I wanted to be baptized again in the true church. He literally wants us to be that bold, stupid bold, he wants us to literally have no shame. He is so funny, but also I was really inspired. So that is what I have been doing! I've walked up to people on the street, handed them a picture of Jesus, and then asked them if they want to be baptized! It is so fun! And it's what President wants me to do. So it's a win win.      Also we have been bold with our investigators. And this week we put 4 people on date for baptism! It has been incredible seeing ou...

Termoeléctrica Round 2

Hola, hola! This week was a good week! I got my new comp on Tuesday, Elder Brimhall. He is from Vegas, and has been out for 18 Months, so his Spanish is good. He is really cool, and is super patient with me. I've been speaking a lot of Spanish with him, so it has been good. My goal is for him just to chill back, and have a relaxed transfer while I attempt to do everything. So it's been good.      We met our new district on Wednesday, so that was fun seeing everyone. Our new district leader is awesome, and is super good at helping me with my Spanish.      It was a bit of a slow week because I was showing Brimhall the area, but we had some good visits. There are so many kids who aren't baptized in our ward, but the problem is that all of their moms don't want them to be. It's the worst! Also speaking about moms, we are teaching this guy who has gone to church, and has a testimony about everything. So we asked him why he wasn't baptized, and he said that our c...

Loosers Shave There Heads?

Image
Buenos, Buenos! This week was the last week of the transfer when everyone kinda gives up on finding because they will either be moved, or get a new comp. Me and Barneys goal was not to do that, because that's a bit lazy. So we made a bet with Elder Evans, and Raymond. Who ever can find the most people at the end of the week wins. And to make it interesting, we put our hair on the line. Loosers shave there heads! That has been our motivation this week.     Let me tell you, we where motivated this week! I had a pretty cool experience too. We where looking at our area book on our phone, and it was pretty dead because no one has been in our area for a couple transfers. But I got the thought to pull out the ancient area book, the one that you could physically touch. And as I was looking at it, I had the feeling to call this lady. Sure enough, she had received all of the lessons from the missionarys before the pandemic, and then lost contact with them. She loved our gospel, and want...
