Splits

Image
Hey everyone! I hope life is treating you well. This week was fun, and a pretty productive week! I had splits with the District Leader Elder Capener. He is a pretty cool guy, he is just a bit self righteous, and obsessed with tiny rules, so I was ready to switch back at the end of the day. That night we got a call from Elder Capeners comp saying that he wanted to do one more day with my comp to help him out with his spanish. It wasn't a bad idea, so I was with Capner for two days. But on to the week.     On the first day of splits we went to visit a Texan that lives kinda by us. She wasn't home, but her neighbor was. So we asked if we could teach a little message. They accepted, and we taught them, and put them on date! It was pretty cool. And then we had a family home evening with an inactive family, and that went really well as well. The second day came around, and I was getting pretty annoyed with Capener, because I would joke about literally anything, and he would tie it t...

Finding Amigos

Howdy, howdy! I hope everyone's week was good. Ours was good, but really slow. Honestly there isn't a lot that went on this week. We cleaned our area book, so besides the three people we have on date, we are trying to find more people. And it's been pretty slow.      We had some fun days finding! One day we packed up bags full of pamphlets, and pictures of Jesus, and just went out for the whole day looking for the elect. We talked to literally everybody we saw, and told them that we had a special message for them. We would say it was literally only 2 minutes long. Then we told them we would even time it. After the little briefing, we would give the restoration in less than 2 minutes. It was pretty fun. But not a whole lot of people were interested. We contacted 35 people in the streets, and gave a 2 minute lesson to pretty much all of them. Sanderson really enjoyed it, he got to share the gospel in a really simple way, and so I think that helped build his confidence. And ...

Changed By The Atonement

There are like 8 headings I could have used for this email, but I think this one describes this week the best. Honestly this week was soo goood! And I really feel like this week I became the missionary I have been looking for, for the last 6 months. It all started with a talk about the Atonement of Jesus Christ by Harold Skousen. I'm not going to go into the talk that much, but it pretty much describes the Atonement in a way that I have never heard before. And as I listened to his talk, I just appreciated Jesus Christ, and grew such a love for him. I was filled with the spirit, and just wanted to be better. And from just a week of trying new things, and doing everything I can to study, and praise Jesus, I can truly say this has changed my mission. My studies have been so much deeper, and I get a lot more out of them, and also my prayers are more sincere. I feel like I have been riding a giant wave of the spirit for 5 or 6 days now, it is amazing! Also when I teach, and testify, I c...

A Spiritual Buffet

I was definitely spiritually fed this week, it was Incredible! I had Zone conference, and a 70 Adrian Ochoa showed up. It was definitely needed, because I came out so thankful for Jesus, and crazy motivated to do the work of the Lord. Also this conference President gave his talk in English, and had an AP translate for him. That is definitely the way to go, his message was incredible. I now know why he is my President. Any way onto the week!     On Tuesday Elder Sanderson had to go up to Xalapa again to finish some gringo card stuff. Our district leader had to do the same thing, so they went together. Zone conference was in Xalapa, so they stayed there until Friday. That left me with Elder Casas. Elder Casas is so funny so we had a great time for a couple of days. For example, I walked into my room to grab something, and when I came out and looked at him, his eyebrow had a slit in it. He just looked at my razor for a second, and decided to slit his eyebrow knowing that we were ...
