Ambos

It sounds like you both deserve a nice well needed nap. But it also sounds like a fun weekend! I love hearing about when the family comes up!     MADRE What humanitarian work are you doing? There is only one person I know who would spend there free time helping others, you truly are a White Owl! But how is that going? Im also glad you like your spanish class! Spanish is really fun to learn, it is just difficult somtimes. Also your guys Pickle Ball night sounded like a blast! I would like to see the place you went to. I also loved seeing Ryans Hoco pics. One day Ryan just came out of his shell, and started having the time of his life! I makes me laugh. He is such a cool kid. He also seems to be getting fast! Im happy he has figured his running out. Everyone benifits from it! The shower seemed really busy, but good. It seems like when we have an event, every body comes and visits. I know that stresses you out, so I hope you enjoyed it.      PADRE Josh Keller text ...

Fact: God Answers Prayers!

Howdy! As most of you know I have high highs, and low lows, this week had both.     On Tuesday, we had a zone meeting. That day was a lot of Elders 1 year mark! So the zone went out for sushi. And I don't know why, but that sushi was sooo goood! After me and Chan looked for an investigator, but we could not find his house. So we called the Elders who where in our area before us. They Led us to a Tiny dirt path that didn’t look like it went anywhere. We hiked up it, and found our investigator. He lives in a super poor place, so I was exited ( those people like talking to us). And he did want to talk! So we talked with him, gave him a Libro de Mormón, and left. He seemed to like us, so I hope he'll let us teach a lesson.     The next morning was really cool! Hermana Nanci (an amazing member), drove us around to all of the inactive members houses. So we got to talk to a lot of people that day. Chan got a ukulele, so ive been teaching him how to play during lunch. He's r...

The Mission

I am really glad you guys had a relaxing week! The pictures you sent dad, were beautifull! It seems like you really needed the weekend you had. Fishing dirtbiking, and watching movies is a good life! Im also glad you got to rethink about your calling. Its crazy to me you have been a Bishop for 2 years, the time has flown for me. I bet for you 3 years feels like forever.      Mom, im happy you started your spanish class! It's also nice you have a Falabella to speak too. Spanish is hard, but I know when you get more into your class you will realize you know more than you think you do. But its cool you got to see all of the silblings this weekend. I hope they are all doing good. Also Ryans part kills me. And that pic of sprite made my day! Hes such a good boy. I hope all is well with you guys. It's really just me and my thoughts out here right now, so I think about you guys a ton. I also laughed when I read about Grandma and Grampa! Them printing out the email is classic. I ...

Xalapa City

Image
Hey everybody! This week honestly has not been that productive. Monday me and Elder Ely (my White friend who is also in my district). Got shipped off to Xalapa for Visa stuff. So we cut Pday short, said goodbye to our comps, and rode on a buss for 6 hours. Most of the buss ride we where driving on the wrong side of the road, so it was quite the adventure. But this time it went by pretty fast because me and Elder Ely just talked. I forgot how nice it is to talk. It gets pretty lonley here because I don't talk to a lot of people. So it was nice to switch it up for a bit.      The next morning we went to the Mexican Visa place. We were waiting outside to get in the building, and as we where waiting, a group of Mexican protesters came and started yelling at us. They had sighns, and a speaker. They didn't like Americans coming into México. It's a goverment building, so security came and brought us in the building. All of the Police here are dressed like the SWAT team. They als...

Dad

I didn't know Sunday was Joshes farwell. Im really sad that I missed it. He is going to be a great missionary, so im glad I helped him in some way.     I think about a lot in Mexico. There are hilos that go up and down, and up and down. Dirt bikers always rip down them, trying to sell things. They make me think about you, I can see you flying down these hills. I also think about how you are doing as bishop. Mom told me about Pres. O, I am sorry you are getting guilt tripped. That is never fun. So I am glad you are taking a break, and reseting. Its kinda funny though, because I did the same thing yesterday. I realized I dont want to survive my next 2 years, I want to thrive. So I thought, "what would dad do?" And I reset, and came up with goals. I hope you figure things out, I know you will. Just remember the Lord cares less about your confort, and more about your groth ;) love you Papa!      The Gunnyman

Buenos tardes!! This week has been packed with adventure! Kinda. So Last Monday after I wrote my email, one of the Elders in our district found out he had covid. So all of our district had to quarentine for 3 days. I was not too thrilled about that.      Tuesday came, and it was pretty borning we just stayed at the apartment till like 3ish. I just studied through that whole time. Then at 4 my comp wanted us to get tested, I also wasnt thrilled about that. I hate getting the stick shoved up my nose. It is not to fun. We get to the first farmacia, and I find out that the Covid test cost about 20 dollers, so I was happy to find out they where closed. We then went to 3 more farmacias, and they all wouldnt take us. That was also a blessing. I have the Covid shot, so I didnt want to pay 20$ to get something shoved up my nose. We then got the news that we didnt need the test if we didnt feel sick. We also could end our quarentine If we felt good. That was amazing News!   ...

The Land of the Book of Mormon

Image
Hello everyone! I am in the Land of the Libro de mormon! Amd it is an adventure. I flew out Last Tueday. We landed in Xalapa, had a 2 hour buss ride to the apartment we stayed at. And then went to bed. The next morining we got ready and headed to a Church. At the Church our mission President, Presidente Perkins. He interviewed all of us. In my interview he Presidente Perkins said I had a special Spirit, and I was called to this mission before I was born. Presidente is really nice, and laid back. After my interview, I was introduced to my comp, Elder Chan! He is from México, and has been out on his mission for 1 year. He is really cool! I thought it would be hard having a native comp, but its not. I speak enough spanish, and he Speaks enough english, so we get by. I asked him where He learned english, and he just pointed to a Taylor Swift álbum we have in our apartment. So if Taylor Swift was a Mexican, my spanish would he a lot better.      It was a 7 hour buss ride to my...

Image
Hola madre, sorry for the weird dry emails. Its hard to type on this phone, it corects every Word to spanish. So thanks for sending my email out. I appreciate you. Bear lake looked like a blast! Im glad you had a good time, you deserved it, you've had a crazy summer. And im glad Adam helped out dad. México is rough, im not going to lie. But like you say, i try to look for the good. Living away from home makes me think about the lessions you have taught me. Anyway here is the run down. TUES. I met all of the missionarys who where going to Xalapa, and it is a good group. I also met bishop youngs son! So we took a pic together. Then we got to mexico, and the APs and Pres Perkins greeted us with big hugs. We then drove to the secretarys of the missions house. After we had tacos, and went to bed. WEN. I had my interview with Pres, and got my comp elder chan. After we had a 7 hour busride to my area Poza Rica. We got to our apt, which is nicer than I thought. Our land Lord is crazy thoug...

Mom & Dad

Dear Luke,     It was so good to talk to you on the phone the other day. I was so happy that you made it to Mexico safely and that you like your mission President and enjoyed being around the elders in your mission. I was so proud of how you handled your self while you did the online MTC. You worked hard and stayed obedient the whole time and in the end you were able to come out of it with a positive attitude. I have to admit the home seems empty without you. I walk by and look into the empty office and it makes me sad not to see you there. I even get sad when I drive by the bowling alley. The only thing that comforts me is knowing you are out in the field having the experiences you are supposed to have.     Adam covered my testimony on Sunday so I was able to stay in Bear Lake with the family for the entire weekend. It was very much needed. Ryan looks like Mr Crabs because he didn’t wear sunscreen. We rented Jet skis for a couple of hours and they were a blast. The ...
