Xalapa City

Hey everybody! This week honestly has not been that productive. Monday me and Elder Ely (my White friend who is also in my district). Got shipped off to Xalapa for Visa stuff. So we cut Pday short, said goodbye to our comps, and rode on a buss for 6 hours. Most of the buss ride we where driving on the wrong side of the road, so it was quite the adventure. But this time it went by pretty fast because me and Elder Ely just talked. I forgot how nice it is to talk. It gets pretty lonley here because I don't talk to a lot of people. So it was nice to switch it up for a bit.

The next morning we went to the Mexican Visa place. We were waiting outside to get in the building, and as we where waiting, a group of Mexican protesters came and started yelling at us. They had sighns, and a speaker. They didn't like Americans coming into México. It's a goverment building, so security came and brought us in the building. All of the Police here are dressed like the SWAT team. They also carry around Huge Guns. It's pretty sweet. But after that adventure me and Elder Ely got shipped back to Poza Rica. 6 hours later we made it back to Poza Rica, and met back up with our comps.

The next day was Mexican Independiente day. So me and Elder Chan went to Walmart so Elder Chan could buy some things. He got some face paint, and a fake mustache. The whole day he had his mustache on, with his mask (that has a mustache on it) over his fake mustache. It's like 100 degrees here, and super humid. I dont know how he does the things he does. Later that day we met up with the rest of the distrect to eat lunch. We also had to be home by 6, so it wasn't a super productive day.

I've been pretty upset lately because ive been a missionary for 3 weeks now, and I don't feel that productive. I love Elder Chan as a friend, but he is a pretty lazy trainer. We don't a lot of work, and it drives me crazy. It's really frustrating because I can't do much about it. I honestly don't know how our days should look like, and I can't really tell Elder Chan what I want to do. Like I don't know enough words to tell him. So when ever I feel like we waist time, I say "Listo?" And point to the door. He will speak spanish to me, but I don't know what he is saying. Im gratefull we get along, and I do really like him. He is So kind, and good to me. I can tell He want's to be a good missionary, but he likes to waist time. So I do my Best to study when we are waisting time.

On that note it's been a lazy week for work. The only productive event was a service project. That was Amazing! We are in an area that got hit by a huricane a week before I got there, so there are trees everywhere. The whole distrect got together, and helped clean up a members backyard. It was so fun! My job was choping trees with an Ax, and a Machete! The service really brought up my spirit.

WHY MEXICO IS AWESOME!

I have done a lot of complaining these Last 9 weeks. So I want to share all of the things I love about México!

First I love the Taxis! Every driver drives like they are being chased! So I love zooming through the streets, going a lot faster than I should. I also like when it rains. Méxican streets don't have gutters, so it is a blast hitting all of the puddles in a taxi. You can't see out of the windows because the water splashes so high.

I LOVE how pretty México is! Walking through the streets is majical! Everywhere you look is stunning!

Elder Chan is awesome! A little lazy, but awesome! The other day I got out of the shower, and on my bed was a plate of pancakes, and bacon! He is the most giving person I know!

I also love the Libro de Mormon! That book is So powerfull! Everytime I read it I feel so happy! And the spirit testifys to me that the Libro de Mormon is true! My studying here gets cooking, The reason I can wake up happy everyday is because of that book. Hermana Perkins challenged the whole mission to reread the Libro de Mormon before the end of the year. So I am pumped to restart it!

Lastly I love spanish! It is the root of all my problems right now, and thats ok because im going to máster spanish! It is hard for me to learn, but about once a week God doubles my ability to speak. And those days are increíble! My mission has been hard but amazing! So I know when I have a grasp on spanish, I wont want to leave this amazing country.

Kinda long, that one is on me. But these are part of my journal, so I write how I feel. Please read the BOM! I promise it will chance your life!
