I Can Get Used To This!
Buenos días!!! This week has been soo amazing, and packed full of joy! The Gospel of Jesus Christ is exciting, and has made every day this week a blessing. Here is my Ted talk for this week. First, my 2 principles i've been trying to live have blessed me so much! Focus on what I can control, and impliment Heavenly Father in everything. These 2 principles have really helped me see how much God loves me, and all of his children. And I now testify that Gods love can change attitudes, Hearts, and minds! At least once or twice a day I feel Heavenly Fathers revelation pouring down on me, showing me how much he has helped me, and how amazing his Gospel is! It is increíble! He really does just want to give us all of his blessings, all we have to do is follow him! I can go on, and on, but I'll move on to this week.
Tuesday was kinda funny. We went to Carlos' Shop, and tried to teach him. He listened for a good amount of time before he got distracted. So while he was distracted we started teaching the other guys at the Shop. One of them told us he was a member. It made me laugh because he was half naked, and smoking. I love the people here! He was inactive, but he has been listening to us teach Carlos. At this point we have pretty much taught the whole Shop. One of Carlos' friends, Christian pulled up to say hi. He spoke really good English, and told me he has wanted to learn his whole life! So I actually got to share the gospel in English, and it was amazing! I realized I Iove talking about Jesús Christ. He was drunk, so he literally told me everything, it was pretty funny. He seemed really interested, but his wife is a Jehovas Witness, and they are ruthless to missionaries. She doesn't even want Christian to look at missionaries, so it's pretty sad. We text a lot in English though, so I'm just planting seeds.
I woke up cold on Wed, which made me so happy! There was so much Rain outside, I couldn't control my joy! I was so hyper that morning, jumping in puddles, sliding around on the street, it was awesome. And also México is sooo pretty when it rains, I can't believe it most times. Nature is an amazing gift! But of course all our appointments that day were in the poor part of our área, so we did a lot of hiking in the mud. Me and Chan were both covered by the end of the day. But we visited Cristal an Investigator, and me and Chan both taught. Even though my spanish is bad, teaching is a blast! So that was amazing.
I went on Splits with E. Navarro this week. It was pretty a good time. We were in my area so I was señor comp for practice... at least that's what he said, he really just didn't want to do anything. It was fun though, Navarro is a fun guy. And I enjoyed the freedom of not being at someone elses will. It also was good practice, because I had to do everything. I made most of the calls and talked to a lot people. And the more I speak spanish, the happier I am, so it was awesome, I was on cloud 9 shooting out spanish. I actually street contacted 3 people in like 7 min. We were whipping through the streets. It was funny becuase every contact we had E. Navarro would put in the phone as a lesson that we taught. I didn't know this at the time, but after splits were done it caused some beef with Chan. I really am blessed to have Chan as a comp, he is more obedient than a lot of the other trainers.
But on that note we do waste a lot of time sometimes. On Saturday we woke up and cut study super early which made me sad. I need that time. But we went out of our area to the market. And the markets here are so cool! And so getto! I felt like James Bond walking through the streets, and in the buildings. I felt like I was in a spy movie right before a cool chase seen. It was very unproductive, but cool. We met up with E. Ely, and Gregorio. We then looked for tie materiales. Every zone confrence we get matching ties. This is where I am thankfull for the states, and how we can buy in bulk. We purchased a Ball of yarn, which confused me because I thought we were looking for fabric. But then we searched for 4 hours trying to find more of that same color of yarn. Once we got all of the yarn, we went to a members house, and she started knitting the yarn into a tie. It was cool to watch how fast she was going. And it was super cool that she was willing to make us ties. The members here are the Best! I can't wait to see how the ties turn out.
Anyway life is good in Mexico! I have been loving every second. My situation hasn't changed, but my focus has. President Nelson's quote is very true. Another really cool thing happend this week! It was like someone flipped on a light switch, but my ability to understand spanish has gotten infinitely better! Im still not near perfect, but I understand so much more. Another blessing Heavenly Father has given me! Ether 12:27 is no joke! I have been so humbled out here, but I also have had so many of my weakness become strengths. God is the Best, and he just wants to give you all of his blessings. So I promise as you ask, search, and follow the commandments, you will prosper in the land. I love you all, and feel your prayers! I hope you all prosper in the land! And if you're thinking about serving a mission do it! They're hard, but so worth it!
