White Boys Walking

Hey everyone! This week was pretty packed with adventures. On Tuesday my comp, and Elder Ely's comp, went and got the COVID shot. And from my understanding, when you get the shot you have to quarantine for a day. So I thought I would have to quarantine with Chan. Monday night I got the news that I was going on an exchange with Elder Ely. Ely is a huge 6'4 Ginger, who has the same amount of time out here as I do. And then Chan told me that me and Ely have two appointments we need to go to, and one of them we were going to have to teach a lesson. That was some very stressful news, because both of our spanish is not great. 

 

 

So on Tuesday me and Ely Became comps. We both didn't know what we could do with our limited spanish, and lack of experience. So we just Walked around saying hi to people. 2 giants in Mexico bring a lot of funny looks. But we helped a guy move his fridge, so I would say it was not a waste of time. We then had to go to both of our appointments. And so we Walked to both of their houses, and one didn't answer, the other was busy so we rescheduled for the next day. That was the Lord looking out for us, because the lady that rescheduled asked really hard questions. But on the way back, we saw Kids playing With Trumpos, it's like a top that you spin with a string. They're pretty cool. We, me and Ely each got one, and had the Kids teach us how to use them. It was so fun playing with the Kids in the street, and our trumpos. 

 

 

The next day Chan and Gegorio( Ely's comp) were still sick, so me and Ely walked around the streets again. We had interviews with President that day, so we tried to be productive till then. Interviews were pretty cool, President is an interesting guy, but I really like him. He is always smiling. I also interviewed with Hermana Perkins, I didn't know we did that. But we talked for a long time. She is a runner too, so we had a fun time talking about that. That night me and Chan switched back, and called it a night.

 

 

ZONE CONFERENCE:

The next day was Zone Conference. It was a pretty good time. To start, President picked all of the new missionarys to stand up and talk about what they have learned on the mission. So I went up and talked about prayer... I think. I honestly don't know what I say most the time. But I wasn't scared at all to get up. It was really weird. The rest of Zone Confrence was good. We ate Texas chicken, and I about cried when I saw American food. 

 

 

We then had General Conference! And that was amazing. I have felt so lost out here, so it was amazing getting all of my questions answered! I took like 10 pages of notes, and I have just been going over them. I have never really liked conference until this week. And that is because I never came to conference with questions. So if you are like me, please bring questions to conferencia. Conference is God Pouring down revelation, and seeing who wants to learn. I also have gained an amazing testimony of prayer out here. Praying is a lot different for me because I need God's help out here like nothing else. It's amazing! 

 

 

I love you guys! And pray for you every night. Turn to God's love if you need help, that is the key to all goodness. That's what I got out of this weekend.
