A Mexican Baptism

Buenos, buenos! Everything is going good in the land of the Book of Mormon! This week was a little rough at the start, because I was getting over the flu, but after Wednesday life started picking up!

As I said I was getting over the flu, and that kinda through me out of missionary mode, so I spent the rest of the week trying to get back into it. The Lord saw my efforts and blessed me with something I will be eternally gratefull for. On Thursday it was Hermana Lunas(my crazy, but amazing land Lord, whos deffently thrown a couple sandles in her day.) Birthday. So she wanted us to eat with her. I was pumped! I just got done with weird mid day split, so me and Chan where busting our booty to get to lunch. But Chan stoped our taxi early, so I was confused, I thought we where eating at the house. NO! We go into this restaurant, and there are 4 other elders waiting for us sitting by hermana Luna. They where past Elders who lived with Hna Luna. But the restaurant we where at was a place like Tacaños! So we spent 2 hours eating meat! it was incredible, and FREE! I also found out Hna Luna is loaded. But it was a true blessing, and it really brought me back into missionary mode.

The rest of the week was crazy busy, and wild. We where getting ready for Kristal, and Andreas Babtism. But one of the days we where with Carlos, helping him fix a car, when lightning struck a power line and sparks flew everywhere! It was so cool to watch. And don't worry Mom, we where on a hill, kinda far from where it hit, so I was safe. But Saturday night before the baptism we where walking home from Kristals house, when we where stoped by a 5 foot tall drunk Mexican, who was crazy drunk. He was Kristals Grandpa, and he did not like us. He started yelling at us to never go to his house again, his family is Catholic, and no one will ever Chang that. It was hard for me not to laugh at his words because of how Short he was, and the fact that we where going to babtise his family tomorrow. But doesn't live with the family or anything, hes not even married to Andrea, he justs drunk and harasses the family which is sad.

The night before the baptism was like Christmas, I couldn't sleep I was so exited! I was babtising Andrea. But we get everything set up in an unorganized manner, because thats how things work here. We littraly put the program together a minuto before the baptism. I was super nervous about saying the babtism words in spanish, so I went over them all day. But Chan babtised Kristal, no problem. And then it was my turn. And I said the words right, went to babtise Andrea, and she wouldn't move, her body would no go into the water. She was super scared of the water. So I ended up repeating the words 7 or 8 times trying to get Andrea in the water. We tryed every position, and every method, but I could not get her face in the water. Finally we got a bucket for her to sit on, and I said the words, and hurryed amd dunked her by suprise. And it worked! It was deffently a first babtism to remember. And we now have 2 more members in this wonderfull gospel! This week I read a talk about how to have the misson change your life. And the key is to put all of your past behind you and only focus on the will of the Lord. This inspired me to box up all of my Dreams, and wants in life, and put them in the back shelf of my mind untill my mission is complete, and then only focus on the lords will. Let me tell you this has been amazing! I love this work, and I am so happy because the Lord guides me every day! All my worries went away by doing this, because I know if the Lord is guiding me, I will turn out to be the person he wants me to become.

Also Transfer news was on Sunday. But im not going to tell you untill next week..... Sike! I can't wait that long I am way to excited. I will be going to Tuxpan! Opening a New area that is crazy hard to spell. And my Comp is an American who I came out here with, Elder Barney. I am so pumped! Elder Barney is the deffention of someone who put all of there life points in chrisma! He is So funny and awsome. It is going to be so hard having both of us be so new, but also so fun! I am so ready to have a valid opinión, and to work super hard opening an area. Ive already been thinking about what Im going to do. We also had interviews this week, and even though President is kinda strange I love him! He told me he is happy with my progression, and said to keep up the work because is going to really need me next transfer. He said there are a lot of new missionarys comming in. I might be training next transfer, who knows. But this transfer I can focus on improving a lot as a missionary. Like I said it is going to be really tough, but that also means there is a lot of room for me to grow. And I really am not to nervous, because I will go and do whatever the Lords asks of me. If I have the spirit with me, there isn't anything to fear.

Anyways this week has been awesome! I love you all, and testify that no kind, ruler, or president is involved in a greater work than what I am doing here in Mexico. This gospel is true, and is the only way to salvation. Heavenly Father has put his trust in me to be bring his children back to him. And I know that if I put my trust in the Lord, and have optimism as my super power, I shall have no fears. En el nombre de Jesucristo Amén. Love you all, keep the commandments and prosper in the land!
