Everything In Mexico Is Hot!

Buenos dias! This week was good, but felt kinda wierd. I don't really know how to explain it. Also Happy Birthday yesterday to my mom! She is an Angel from heaven, so If you see her around, wish here a happy birthday for me! Love ya mom!

And my subject to this email is so true! Everything here is either hot or spicy. It's really funny. The weather app here constantly says 30°, I don't know what that is to you guys, but the humidity is anywhere from 70 to 90%. It's just hot! Also all of the food here is hot. I either have steaming rice, or chicken that hurts to touch. And you know that when I take a bite it's going to be spicy. I love it! The randomest things here are spicy. Like I bought a bag of regular nacho cheese doritos, and they were spicy. It's amazing! The guys at the car Shop buy doritos, and then put hot sauce on them. It is soo good! I'm going to have to carry around hot sauce when I get home, because I love the Spice here. Elder Chan gets teased a lot because I love the Spice, and he doesn't, it's really funny. Anyway on to the week.

We had zone conference this week on Wed. So Tuesday we visited the members who have been making our ties, to see if they were finished. We got there at like 7:00, and they had only finished 5 ties out of 12. And Zone Conference was the next day. Everyone was a little stressed, wondering if the ties would get done by Zone Conference. But then we found out that other members made ties too, so we spent the rest of the night searching for the rest of the ties. Good times.

Zone Conference was really wierd this week. It felt strange and rushed. We didn't have interviews with President before, and we also didn't have breakfast. Everyone felt like it was a little off. But we got there, and found out why. There was a member of the 70 speaking to us. I wish I could say his words were good, but I didn’t understand much. After, President spoke to us about obedience. I can understand all of Presidents spanish now. It really is not that good. But after, we hung out with the Zones and ate Churches Chicken. That was also cut short though. The Zone Conference just felt off, it was interesting. We did get some cool news though! Elder Holland is going to be speaking to our mission this month, pretty cool!

But the work is a little slow right now. We haven't been finding New people in our area. It's sad because we will call some one, have a full lesson on the phone, and then find out they live in a different area. And Honestly  Cinco de Mayo needs a lot of work. The people here are not that receptive. We have been doing a lot of work with the inactive members, because there are soo many! Our bishop doesn't show up to church more than half the time. We have 2 wards in our area. Tepeyac (which is a super solid ward!), and Cinco de Mayo. We go to both wards on Sunday, and Tepeyac has like 30, 35 solid members, and Cinco de Mayo has about 15 to 17 members who show up. So it's hard to get members involved with helping people come to church. That has been our struggle recently for Cinco de Mayo. Tepeyac on the other hand is amazing! We are still working with a lot of inactive members, but the members are always giving us references, or showing up to help us teach. They are a real blessing. On Sunday right before church started 2 guys from the Shop walked in and sat by me and Chan! I about jumped out of my seat when I saw them, I was so happy! They both are inactive members, but they seemed really happy to be there. And then another inactive member walked through the door with his sister and mom. So that made me really happy as well. He was a missionary a long time ago, but went inactive with his family. We have been working hard to get him and his family to church. He has a son and daughter. And the son just turned 9. So it was awesome to see him pull up, hopefully we can get his whole family to come next time. But his Mom and Sister are both solid members in the ward. They are the ones who made us the ties. Lastly after the meeting was done we had one more inactive member come up to us and say HI! He came with another family in the ward. So I was pumped seeing 4 inactive memebers back at church. It really made me feel good.

But that was my week, not a whole lot went on. Méxicans in Poza Rica don't celebrate Halloween, so there was nothing going on for that. I hope you all have a good week! I feel your prayers, and know Jesús loves you. Keep the commandments and prosper in the land. Thats what I keep getting from my fire BoM study sesións.
