Lazy Missionarys Are The Worst!

Buenos, buenos! This week was incredibly difficult, I am not going to lie. There was just a lot things that really tested me and my patience. But it all counts, the good and the bad. So we will call it a week of growth.

Anyway, on Tuesday we went to teach Carlos, and there was new guy at the Shop. He started talking to us about our church, and said he was a member, but inactive. And then he turned into a Nehor, and started Bashing hard on our church, and said all kinds of bad stuff. And then he told Carlos not to be baptised! But to make matters worse the crazy member at the Shop walked in and started debating the Nehor with false doctrina. I have never been more frustrated. Because I could understand what was going on, and I knew the answers to the Nehors dumb questions, but I couldn't speak. It was really difficult. Me and Chan were both upset that night. But the next day Carlos was fine, and still wanted to learn more, so thats all that matters.

I also went on splits this week with Elder Gutierrez. He is known to be kinda lazy. Camacho, the area of E Gutierrez, and Naborro is the problem area in our district. But Elder Gutierrez is super shy, and kind of an awkward guy. So I did a lot of the teaching which was actually super fun, and good for me. But Elder Gutierrez kinda treated me like I was dumb becuase my spanish isn't good, so that was irritating. I also don't help though. Because I act dumb with Mexicans who treat me like I can't do anything. Like with E. Gutierrez, I would pretend like I didn’t know the area, and ask him if he knew how to get to places. But in the evening on our schedule we had a lesson with Sandra at 6:30, but Elder Gutierrez said we were switching back at 6:30. I was confused because we usally switch back at 8:00, so I just assumed Chan text him, and told him 6:30. So we stop by the apt to get his stuff, but he just takes the phone, sits in bed and does nothing till 7:15. That made me mad, because we totally could have taught Sandra. And then we go to Camacho to switch back at 7:45, but Camacho isn't home becuase they were teaching a lesson. The lack of comunication has really been getting to me. A simple text would have solved all of this. I've learned I can't assume anything here.

This week was already pretty rough, but im not even Kidding Sunday was the hardest Day of my life. Literally the hardest day of my life. It was a perfect storm. I filled up 9 pages in my journal writing about it, so I'll give the summary. But pretty much I woke freezing with the chills, and with a fat migrane, and also my lower back Hurt super bad. But we had an incredibly packed day, so there was no time to cry about it. We also got news from the bishop that we had to prep an 8 min talk for church. We had a good amount of time to prep so I wasn't stressed. But then my title comes in! Camacho calls us saying they need help cleaning there baptismal font, which really ticked me off because they literally had all week to clean it, but they wait till an hour before the baptism to clean it, and ask us to help, because they know we are going to do all the cleaning. I ask Chan what Vegas is doing, because they share a church with Camacho. But then Vegas/ E Gregorio calls, and said they can't help because they're busy. This made me even more mad because Elder Ely tells me their schedule, I know for a fact they are not busy, its just Elder Gregorio isn't out of bed yet. So even though I am so sick, I read the oath and covenant of the priesthood, ask for help, and get going. We clean the font, and then go to our church. And the whole time I'm just trying to survive. I was freezing, and my head Hurt so bad. But Kristal, and her mom pulled up to church, so that was amazing! Carlos ghosted us which made me really sad, but I wasn't surprised. And a couple other investigators came to church too, so that was awesome! Also we didn't end up giving our talks, so that was kinda sad, but a blessing. But the rest of the day was just rough.

But it was a week of growth. I am better because of it. And now I know this next week will be better. Even though it was hard, God really helped me get through it. Love you guys!
