6 Months! What A Ride

This week has been packed with adventure! I have also seen so many miracles, my mind has been blown with how much God loves me, and with how much he has been blessing me! I get excited just thinking about how happy the mission makes me! I've been a missionary for 6 months, but yet I feel like I still have no clue what I'm doing. I need more time to master being a missionary. With that being said, I'll jump into this crazy fun week!

I have had an ingrown toe nail for a while now that has got infected. So on Tuesday I went to the doctor and had that taken care of. It wasn't fun. But he told me not to walk for 5 days, so that news was really sad, we have so much to do in our area. I've also been wearing a sandel on that foot all week. I look really goofy. But anyway after I heard the sad news I did what any mature 20 year old would do, and challenged this guy to a one on one basket ball game. Don't worry Mom, I promise I was fine, and more importantly I won! The deal was if I won he would listen to our message, and so after I shared a scripture with him. After my little thought, I asked him how he has seen Christ in his life. He went on for about 2 minutes, talking about how he has been jobless because of the Rona, and has had such a difficult couple of years, but he has never stopped believing that Jesus is there. He went on to say that every month he somehow finds enough money to provide for his family, and knows that it's Christ blessing him. It was super neat. We got his number and everything, and then he told us when we were leaving, "I now know what Jesus wants me to do." Which means he is going to take our lessons! A true miracle! And to top it off, my toe was fine. I really have been taking really good care of it, and it's been healing really well, so no worries!

It also has been crazy cold down here! It's super weird. The 80% humidity really makes it miserable. Mexican houses are not built for the cold, so our house is colder than outside. I feel like I'm camping all the time because I cannot get warm to save my life. For my studies I wear my church shirt, sweater, hoodie, and oversized long sleeve, and I'm still freezing! It's been interesting. But on Saturday we had a big district activity! We all went to the bus stop, and street contacted for 3 hours in the freezing cold rain. It was so fun! My comp hates street contacting, and I bet he hates it more with me. I literally just put us in awkward conversations, and then don't know what's going on, so he has to get us out. It's really fun! My goal is to baptize one person by telling them their baptism wasn't like Jesus'. We actually found a lot of good people though. This married couple was walking, and the wife told the husband, "I want to go to church tomorrow." And literally right as she was done saying that Elder Ecarsiga came up and contacted them without knowing that. They were in our ward, so he invited them to church, and they came! That was another miracle. But after the activity we went to a nice restaurant where the servers come out with meat, and pass by your table. I literally out ate everyone, I was so hungry. It was the perfect way to end a great day.

Also some update news with some investigators! Carlos has his baptism this Saturday! We passed him off to the Hermanas because he is in their area, but he is doing great! And I should be the one baptizing him! So I'm pumped for that. We also might have A baptism for Fabian this Saturday too. He is one of the people we put on date being bold. So hopefully we can get him all set for that. We also put another girl on baptism this week! Her name is Mia, and I actually have never met her. Elder Brimhall knew her from the last time he was in Tuxpan. Also we had some cool things happen on the street yesterday. The normal thing in our mission on Sunday is if you hit all of your goals you pretty much don't do much that day. I hate that mind set! We were at the church doing calls, and there wasn't much motivation to go outside because it was cold, and raining. We planned on going back to the apt to log in numbers, and do more calls. Right before we were going to walk home, I felt the super strong impression to stay out till 9. It was like 7-7:30 at this point. So I told Brimhall, let's just go through our list, and visit Inactives for one more hour. And as we walked around we visited a solid family, and it was pretty good. We were going to call it a night, but I just couldn't yet. I had the feeling that if I would call it a night a tad early, I would miss a miracle. So I told Brimhall, just one more family. So we did, and that family was the miracle I was looking for! They are inactive, but want to start going back, and they also have an unbabtised 9 year old. But to finish it off the wife gave us a reference of a guy who is dying to be baptized in our church! It was so cool. I literally can't get over how blessed I have been this week. We are seeing so much success and progress, I love it!

But I know this work is important, and I know that God called me here, at this time! I always think back to good old Uncle Ben's saying, "With great power comes great responsibility." I am an American born into this gospel, who literally has a piece of God's power. This mission is my great responsibility. Everybody needs this message. Everyone needs more Jesus in their life. God's whole purpose is to give us all of his blessings, all that he has! To me that is so beautiful, and I love sharing his message! This last 6 months has been really interesting to say the least. But I wouldn't trade them for anything. I am so blessed to have the opportunity to put on Jesus' name everyday, and preach with his power and authority. There is nothing that has brought me more joy.

I hope everyone is doing well! God is good, and wants us to be happy!
