Loosers Shave There Heads?

Buenos, Buenos! This week was the last week of the transfer when everyone kinda gives up on finding because they will either be moved, or get a new comp. Me and Barneys goal was not to do that, because that's a bit lazy. So we made a bet with Elder Evans, and Raymond. Who ever can find the most people at the end of the week wins. And to make it interesting, we put our hair on the line. Loosers shave there heads! That has been our motivation this week.

Let me tell you, we where motivated this week! I had a pretty cool experience too. We where looking at our area book on our phone, and it was pretty dead because no one has been in our area for a couple transfers. But I got the thought to pull out the ancient area book, the one that you could physically touch. And as I was looking at it, I had the feeling to call this lady. Sure enough, she had received all of the lessons from the missionarys before the pandemic, and then lost contact with them. She loved our gospel, and wanted us to teach her, it was really cool. The only thing is we can not find her house, we have spent a total of 3 hours looking for her house this week, and have found nothing.

Also This week was New Years! And that was pretty fun. We worked extremely hard that day, and found 3 new investigators. While we where walking the streets, we saw all of these fake people made our of paper, sitting outside of people's houses. We asked a local what they where for, and he said they are stuffed full of paper and fireworks. So at 12:00 everyone blows them up! Crazy! As we walked the streets listening to people blasting there music, a member told us to go inside earlier tonight, because the people here on New Years randomly shoot pistols in the air with live bullets. Mexico is just built diffrent. We spent the last of that night watching fireworks on top of our roof, and setting goals for our blackout year. It was fun.

We also had transfers on Sunday. I am staying here in Termoeléctrica, but getting a new comp. My new comp is another American, who has been out for like 15 months. He will be the new Zone leader here in Tuxpan. I'm pretty excited, but a little sad, I was hoping for a Mexican because I wanted Spanish to be the only language option. But if the Lord thinks I need another American, then that is what I shall have. I just don't want him to do everything. It's hard to learn Spanish when your companions don't trust you to do anything by yourself. So I hope he will be patient with me, and let me talk.

Anyway back to the competition! We won!!! Me and Barney found 10 new people this week! And the others only found 5. So we will be shaving there heads today. They'll probably chicken out, but hey! They motivated us to find 10 new people. A win is a win.

Anyway Mexico is fun, but is also extremely hard. I can't wait for the day when I don't feel stupid all the time. And the only thing I have to worry about is taking a cold shower. Love you all, and hope you had happy holidays!
