Termoeléctrica Round 2

Hola, hola! This week was a good week! I got my new comp on Tuesday, Elder Brimhall. He is from Vegas, and has been out for 18 Months, so his Spanish is good. He is really cool, and is super patient with me. I've been speaking a lot of Spanish with him, so it has been good. My goal is for him just to chill back, and have a relaxed transfer while I attempt to do everything. So it's been good.

We met our new district on Wednesday, so that was fun seeing everyone. Our new district leader is awesome, and is super good at helping me with my Spanish.

It was a bit of a slow week because I was showing Brimhall the area, but we had some good visits. There are so many kids who aren't baptized in our ward, but the problem is that all of their moms don't want them to be. It's the worst! Also speaking about moms, we are teaching this guy who has gone to church, and has a testimony about everything. So we asked him why he wasn't baptized, and he said that our church doesn't talk about moms enough. Very strange, because motherhood is literally the most sacred calling in the world. If he watched how my mom raised me he would doubt everything he has ever known, and get baptized in his bathtub. We also taught this girl who believes that Jesus name is actually Joshua. And then she told us we would know the truth when we were older. Pretty weird.

We had a cool miracle happen this week. Me and Brimhall have been teaching this guy named Carlos, and invited him to church. And he came!! It was sweet! But also there was a lot of people at church that I have never seen before. We talked to our source, and she told us that 4 people were not baptized, and had kids who needed to be baptized. So literally 5 new people came to church! And we got all of their contacts. We also had an inactive member give a talk! The work is slowly rolling in this area. God has been blessing our efforts.

Also on Sunday it was my birthday, so I opened my present, and was literally so happy! I have the best mom in the world! And also want to say thanks to everybody who wrote me a note, you are all amazing! But after church we went to a members house, and she made us dinner. Then at the end she pulled out a huge cake with my name on it!! She is literally so nice. The tradition in Mexico is funny. Everybody starts chanting words while you go to take a bite of your cake head first, and then they push your face in the cake. It's so funny! I love the traditions here.

But I'm exited for this next transfer. I feel like I've been learning slow, so I hope this transfer speeds things up. I'm trying to let go of learning Spanish quickly, and just focus on the people. It's been pretty good. But it's still tough to literally study your heart out every morning, and then get roasted by Mexicans. It honestly has helped me out though. Nothing really bothers me anymore, Ether 12:26: fools mock. Also we have hot showers now, so I'm living my best life.

Anyway thank you all for your Birthday wishes, I really appreciate you all! And hope you have a good week. God is the God of miracles, so everything will work out.
