Plaza Verde Martinez!

Hermanos, y Hermanas! This week has been wild! So let's get into it.

On Tuesday I went to the Church in Xalapa, were all the new missionaries where. Then President called my name, and gave me my kid(companion). My new comp is Elder Sanderson!! He is from Interprise Utah, and is way sick. We have a good time. But then from the church we took our bags, and headed to our new area. Im not going to lie our area isn't great. Its called Plaza Verde, but the nick name is Plaza Muerte because the area is dead. The apartment is also pretty sketchy. It should be nice once we clean it, but are spiders in no joke every corner, and cobwebs are all over the place. But I am really pumped, a determaind to get this place moving again.

The first day was a pretty big reality check. We don´t really have people that the other Elders were teaching, so we just went to the streets. And we got slapped by rejection. All of our potential Investigators told us they were busy, or just lied to us saying they didn't know who we were looking for. And the one girl we taught a half lesson too just laughed at my spanish the whole time. And at first this really discouraged me, so we went back to the apt to make calls. I prayed and asked God to help me because my new situation was not looking to good. And God answerd my prayer with motivation. I could not give up, and give Satan the satisfaction of winning. And so we went back out and placed a Book of Mormon. I have the truth, so it would be a shame to not share it.

After that I have started praying and relying on the divine power of Heavenly Father, and let me tell ya, his power is real. I have been reading the Saints book, and have been really inspired by Joseph Smith and his faith in the power of God. He is always relying on the Lord. As I have done this I have seen miracles. I have always kinda doubted the gift of tounges, but now I have no doubt it is true. Everytime the Lord needs me to know spanish, it comes. Because I am training, and my kid doesn't know any spanish, I am doing everything. And the second I looked to the Lord, not once have I felt like the language has been a huge issue. Words, and grammer that didn't make sence to me last week now do. When i'm talking to people about the gospel, I don't have to think about what I am saying too much, spanish just comes out. But the crazy thing is that in conversation about stuff that doesn't really matter, my spanish isn´t great. It only comes when the Lord needs it to.

I have also been focusing on following every spiritual promting right when it comes, even if that means backtracking, or not doing somthing I want to do. And I had a cool miracle from this. We were contacting in the street, and I was going to head home to do some other stuff, but I had a feeling that if I stayed out longer I would see a miracle. I didn't know were to go or anything, so I just started walking trying to contact, and stall time. After a bit of walking with not a lot of success, I walked past this guy, and right as I lost sight of him, the spirit hit, and said go back, he's the miracle. So I contacted him, and taught the whole first lesson on the street. It was pretty cool. The spirt has been really helping me out. I am getting blessed with positivity, which has been a blessing durring this week. I have been rejected, made fun of, and I even got sick, and threw up. But when I let optimism be my super power, the devil can't decive me!

I know that through the power of God we are unstoppable! And I promise if you let God prevail in your life, and use his power to only do his will, you will see miracles. The scripture for the week is 2 Nephi 22:2(thanks Alyssa!). I hope you all are doing good, and I love you so much!
