Bittersweet Goodbyes

Buenos días todos!! This week was full of adventures, carne asada, and bittersweet goodbyes! This was the last week of the transfer, so P week for most of the missionaries. My comp on day one told me that he would work hard if he could do P week. So on Tuesday I decided to go on Splits with Elder Martínez for a couple days. He is in his training, and likes to work hard too, so we grinded the work her for 2 days. It felt so good to work as hard as I like to, and turned out very well because when we switched back Ayala was rested, and worked till Saturday!

Saturday was definitely a funny day. Elder Ayala is from the North of Mexico, so he loves carne asada! So when we switches back to divisiones, he wanted to throw a goodbye party for me, because we knew I would be leaving the area. I was for it, because I thought it was just going to be a chill dinner thing. But oh how I was wrong! He invited all of the district, Gladys family, Giselas family, and the bishops family! So Saturday we spent the morning gathering all of the stuff for the feast! Alaya bought 7 kilograms of meat, I'm not sure how much that is in pounds, but it seemed like a lot. Then from 2 to 4 he was cooking the meat. So while he was cooking the meat, I was playing with Gladys son Ethan, and talking with Gladys. It was a really good time. We also found something really cool out. So Gladys Mom passed aways 3 months before I got to the area, and they were really close. And Gladys heard the missionaries a year earlier, but didn't want anything to do with them. Then her mom passed away, and the bishop set up a family home evening with her family. And I reminded her a lot of her Mom. That's why she kept listening to us at first. Then she built her own testimony, and got baptized. Anyway we were talking, and Ethan asked me when my birthday is. I told him January 9th. When I said that Gladys face was shocked! She kept saying," No way, no way, no way!" My birthday is the same day as her Mom's birthday! How crazy! Anyway her brother later came to the house, and he isn't a member. But when he found out my birthday was the same day as his mom he had me show him, and he freaked out as well. He is not a guy of emotion, and they all told me he is just not a nice guy. But he bought me a cake to show thanks to his mom, and told me we need to talk! So that was really special. God just has people prepared! He is just so good! Then the rest of the day we ate carne asada that was soo good! And talked about the gospel with Gladys, and her family. It was a really fun day!

Sunday was transfer news! I am going to be moving to Papantla with Elder Armendariz! He is going to train me how to be a Zone Leader. It's also another white wash( me and comp are both new to the area). 4th area, 4th white wash! But i'm pumped to get grinding again! After I got the news, I said goodbye to Gladys, and Ethan. That was really bittersweet. Ethan knew I was leaving, so he wrote me a sweet note, and gave me the Spiderman toy I always used when I played toys with him! He is only 6, but he is a kid that confounds the wise! I'm definitely going to miss them. This area is my baby, but I'm ready to leave, and see the rest of the mission.

That's about my week. It was really good! I feel good about my work with Martínez! I feel like I found some good people for Ayala and his new comp. And they have some good people that there going to work with this next transfer. But God is so good, and he just prepairs us until we are ready to hear the message he has for us. So my challenge is to pray, and try to find out the message God has for you this week. He is just so good, and his love makes me want to burst with joy! His gospel is the only way to true happiness! I sure love you all, and hope you can feel God's love for you!
