I Love Mexico!

Buenas días todos! This week was pretty good, and full of service! Me and Ayala spent a good amount of time painting with a member! It honestly was really relaxing, I love painting houses! But let's get into the week!

Tuesday we did divisiones! So I went to Tlapacoyan, with Elder Jimenez! He is awesome, so we had a ton of fun! But we had a cita with a Jehovas Witness, and it was honestly pretty fun. It wasn't that productive, but it was my first time Bible bashing, so I enjoyed it a lot. After that cita, we headed to a random city on top of a mountain! It was so cool, and probably the prettiest place I have ever seen! So we did some contacting up there, and called it a night. But the taxi ride down the mountain was incredible! It was so pretty, and I was just in heaven, watching a gorgeous sun set, riding down a mountain with the wind on my face! I LOVE MEXICO!

The next day we ended divisiones, and went to visit our friend Jose Luis, and his family! They are awesome, and so fun to teach! We invited him to baptism, but he doesn't feel quite ready, so we still have some work to do with him. But his kid has a guitar, so I have been teaching him how to play, it's been super fun.

The next two days were really fun! We spent the mornings painting! It was funny because I am a giant to all of Mexico, so they had me paint the tops of every wall. The ladder I was using was pretty ghetto, so it made it extra fun! It was awesome seeing the hermana so grateful for our service!

This week I've also kinda figured something out with my comp. He really has been struggling being motivated to work, so It's been hard on me, because that's all I want to do. Not knowing what to do, I asked Heavenly Father. The response I got was pretty cool, treat him like my greatest investigator. And that is what I have been doing! On Saturday the start to our day was pretty rough. So I sat him down, and told him the things the spirit wanted me to say. It was crazy spiritual, and then I walked out of the room to give him time to think. I opened the door a little, and he was on his knees praying. So I gave him his time, while I played the guitar for a bit. When he came out of the room, he was all ready to go, and work! After that we haven't had a problem with working! The Lord is just so good, and knows what we all need. I love being a missionary, because I can see how many years he prepares people to hear his message. That includes myself too!

Sunday was a miracle as well! Gladys last week told us that she didn't want us to come over, because she wanted a week to see if this is something she really wanted. So when I saw her on Sunday I was so happy! After lunch we went to her house, and asked how her week went. She told us it was awful! She had such a bad week, so she wasn't planning on coming to church on Sunday. As Sunday rolled around, she felt like she needed to go. Not because we told her she should, or because she felt like she had to go, she just wanted to. And that was her answer, so she will be baptised this week! I am so exited for her! I have never cared for an investigator like I have cared for Gladys. We are just so tight, and I know the gospel can, and already has changed her life.

This week was full of spiritual experiences! I am so thankful the Lord is kind enough to use me as his instrument! I have been learning that the Lord sends his missionaries with purpose. He prepares people for years, both the missionary, and the investigator. And when the time is right, he unites them. That's how I feel with Gladys. She had a discussion with the missionaries a year before I came, and she wanted nothing to do with the Gospel. That is very interesting to me, because the Lord had me wait a year so I could go to Mexico and meet her. Sometimes it feels like the Lord doesn't really care about what is going on in your life, but I know that is not true. His timing is perfect, and he is in the details, just waiting for us to come unto him. I found a book by Elder Ballard, and at first I thought it was going to be kinda boring, but no! Elder Ballard is a literary genius! He has a quote that I really like, and have been pondering lately. It goes along the lines of this. "When we really try to walk the path Christ walked, we see changes in our life. Not because we feel like we need to change, but because we want to." I love that so much because it's true! I love this gospel, and know that as we walk Christ's path, we will see changes in our life! Changes that will refine us! But I love all of you! And hope you find the joy in Christ's gospel!
