The Good Life!
I am currently writing this email on the deck of our house, in a hammock! Life can't get much better than Papantla! Well the weather can, but other than that Papantlas pretty much perfect! But let's get into the week!
Tuesday was leadership council, and that was awesome! Elder Gong said that now is the time for Mexico, and our mission is taking that very seriously. We had so many spiritual, and uplifting talks. I am really excited for this transfer! After the council me, my comp, and the AP, headed back to Papantla for divisions.
On Wednesday we had Zone council, so we pretty much told the Zone what President expected, amd gave a class on personal conversion. It went pretty well, the Zone left more unified, so that was a plus! After the Zone class we had a super spiritual lesson on the restoration, and that was awesome! Then we dropped by a family and put a date on one of there kids! It was so cool! That night we dropped off the AP, and planned a little bit.
Wednesday I went on divisions with Elder Wolfley. He is one of my good friends, so it was really fun. His area has been struggling a bit, so we just hit the work hard, and tried to help him out. Me and Armendariz are really working hard with the Zone, trying to help everyone baptize this transfer. Its really fun, but really tough sometimes.
Thursdays we went with an inactive family, and taught the restoration. We ended the lesson putting another 9 year old girl on date! It was awesome! She is the sweetest little girl I have ever seen! Then we went with another girl named Kadie. She wants to be baptized so bad, but her Mom won't let her, so she's just waiting to turn 18 in November to be baptized. But our lesson with her was so spiritual! We taught The Plan of Salvation, and after she gave us her testimony about the Atonement! It was crazy spiritual!
Saturday we had a lesson with this guy named Alan who is dating a member. The family is awesome! And so funny! But we had a really good lesson. Alan is really quiet, but I think he really liked the lesson. After that lesson we just talked, and they randomly bought us cake! I was not complaining, because the cake here just hits different, it's soo good! So we just had cake and talked to this incredible family for a while. It was really fun!
Sunday( Game Day!)
We got to the church, and there was not a lot of people at church, so I was a bit worried. He had 2 investigadores come, so that was awesome! Then the meeting started, and little by little the church got packed! As me and Armendariz counted, we had 7 investigadores! It was so sweet! This ward is just amazing as well, all the members are so nice, and love doing the mission work! After church we ate tamales, and then did some service. Then we went to Jesus' house to talk with him and his parents. Jesus is a 9 year old who had a date for the 22nd. So we talked with his parents, and they are all for him getting baptized! The Dad wants to baptize him, so we put the date a little further back so the dad can reactivate himself. After the talk the family gave me this fruit that is like a lime, but different. If you know me, you know I love sour stuff, so I was in heaven! So they gave us a bag of limes, mangos, and this mystery fruit. It was a great day!
This week was soo great! This week I was reading The Sermon on the Mount, and I realized how much Jesus wants us to live in the moment. Obviously we should have plans, and be prepared. But just durring the day, we should just focus on what we are doing at that time. I have been trying to just enjoy every second of the day, and it has been very spiritual, and freeing! It is so much easier to appreciate Jesus, and all he has done for me when I focus on how pretty Mexico is, how amazing the people are, and just live in the moment. It eliminates expectations, and anxiety for the future. It also has been easier to follow the spirit! So that is my challenge for all of you, just focus on the moment. Enjoy walking around, looking at the beautiful creations God has given us! He is just soo good! That is the scoop for this week! I sure love all of you soo much! And hope you have good weeks!
