Some Will, And Some Won't

Buenos días todos! This week was very tough to say the least. There were a lot of things that went on between Elders in the Zone, the work, and a lot of other things. But ni modo, God is still good, and I saw a lot of his tender mercies this week. Also I have been going on a doctrinal splurge! I have always loved studying and learning about the gospel, but for some reason this week I have been on a different level! It's been incredible! If you just want to feel incredible all the time, read your scriptures during every moment you can! Even though a lot of aspects have made this week hard, I still have been crazy happy and optimistic this week! Scripture power is real!

Monday we went to Tajin, so that was awesome! It's always so cool seeing history! After Tajin pretty much the whole Zone Buzzed their heads, we all looked like gang members, it's hilarious!

Tuesday I went on divisions with Elder Trickey, our District Leader. I went to his District council to see how it was going, and I quickly learned that the Elders I'm in his District are Incredible! I've never laughed harder, and learned so much at the same time. Elder Trickey is a hick from AZ, so you know we had a great time. He was in my area for 3 months so he showed me some people that he had been teaching, and then after he showed me a place where I can buy ice cream on waffles! While I was eating my waffle, I got a call from Hna Perkins, asking me if I could translate a message for her. Apparently a missionary got bitten by a baby racoon pet that a member had. I don't know why, I just thought that was hilarious. Why would anyone want a raccoon as a pet?

Wednesday was a very slow day during a very slow week. We had our district council, and it ended really late. We spent the whole day getting canceled, it was pretty interesting.

Thursday was packed full of traveling. We had an interview in Gutierrez Zamora, which is an hour away from our area. After the interview we ate lunch with a member, who owns a restaurant on the beach. It was pretty sweet! I ate sea slugs, Octopus, fish, and Shrimp tostadas! Life is enchanted! But after me and my comp drove 2 hours to Espinal, just to get rejected by the family of 5. They decided As a family that they don't want to be baptized. That was pretty rough to hear. I just felt so bad for them, they are missing out on something that is truly divine.

Friday morning we went to visit our lost sheep in Zozocolco. Everything is good with her, but her daughter now doesn't want to be baptized, that was a bummer as well. The rest of the day was pretty much traveling back to Papantla, with BMW's in the taxis.

Saturday we had a super awesome day planned, until a struggling companionship told us they needed to do divisions. Our whole day got ruined sadly, but I hope we helped those Elders out. So I've been with Elder Noriz since Saturday to know. He is awesome, so we have had an incredible time!

Sunday we went to the Espinal branch because I had to give a talk. That branch is kind of a mess. There is a lot of crazy kids, so they were either screaming, running a round, or crying throughout the whole meeting. We did have 3 investigators come though, so that was awesome. I had a cool moment during my talk. All the kids were being absolutely crazy during the first talk, you could barely hear her it was so bad. But the second that I got up everything went silent for the whole time I spoke. I ended my talk, and sat down. And as soon as the next speaker got up, everything went crazy again! It was like someone turned on a switch, it was really weird. I then asked my comp if he understood my message, because I honestly have no clue. And he told me that usually I make a lot of mistakes when I speak, but during my talk I didn't make one! It was a cool little gift of tongues moment. But that afternoon we taught a lesson with the lady that went to church. We almost got stuck in Espinal for the night. I forgot to bring the keys to the apartment, and there was no taxies passing. Finally a buss passed by that was going to Poza Rica. It dropped us of at a town where a member who has a car lives. So he drove us the rest of the way. We got back at 9:27, that was another tender mercy!

That's been about the week. It's been crazy slow, with a lot of rejection. It's all good in the hood though, because when optimism is your superpower, the evil one can't deceive you. Also I listened to a really good Elder Bednar talk. He said that all these missionaries wonder if they are good or not, or wonder if they are feeling the spirit or not. But all we have to do is be good boys,(Obedient) and go.(diligent) if we do that the spirit will lead us like Nephi in 1 Nephi 4. I love that so much! So I have really been working on being a good boy, and putting all my faith in the lord to lead me, even if I don't know where to go or what to do. I just have to get to work, and everything will turn out how it should. It's so simple, but has worked for me really well! I hope you all feel the guidance of the lord in your life, he is there, and he loves all of his children! I also hope you guys have fantastic weeks!
