I Hate Chisme!

This week has been absolutely draining! Emotionally, Physically, and Mentally. Papantla is crazy! Chisme means gossip, and that has been the topic of this week. If I hear that word one more time I will explode! I was exited this week, because it was the last week of the transfer, so I thought that I could just grind the work, and set up my area for next transfer. Oh how I was wrong. I spent pretty much the whole week dealing with problems in the stake, or doing divisions. So I barely had time to work in my area. I also did see a lot of miracles, and tender mercys! I wrote 9 pages in my journal about everything that happened. So let's dive in.

Tuesday I went on divisions with Elder Triana after our Zone class. Zone class was a blast! We did a class on personality, and people skills. It was fun teaching the Zone on how to deal with different types of people. And then we read Alma 60, and explained how Pahoran saved all of Zarahemla just by writing a diplomatic letter to Moroni. People skills matter! After the class was over we took our Zone picture, and then I went to Voladores. That's the area Triana is in. Triana is a super chill guy, so we had a lot of fun! We had this awesome lesson with this lady and her daughter. They are so funny! I am sad that they aren't in my area. It was a good day.

Wednesday was a good day aswell. We had a meeting with the Stake President because of all the drama that has been going down. And then after that I talked with a member I love named Arturo. He is a convert, so at the sports activity he told me his story of why he joined the church. It was crazy! We were both almost in tears! He is such a stud, and his story really made me love being a missionary. This work is just so important!

Thursday I went on divisions with my old comp Elder Ayala! He has been struggling, so I went with him. We had such a good time! He is just so funny. Our divisions didn't last to long though, because I received a call from Armendariz telling me a ton of drama. We ended divisions, and from 3 to 6:30 I was dealing with drama. It was the worst! Before I ended divisions with Ayala, I gave him a blessing. It was such a cool experience! It was funny because he is kinda just a rock hard person. I knew the blessing was from God because it was a rock hard blessing, and my words were crazy bold. It was a testimony that God knows us, and what we need! And also that by his spirit we can say what people need to hear. I love being an instrument of the Lord!

Sunday was the baptism of Jesus! That was really special because we have been working with that family for a long time. It was so neat to see the Dad reactivate to baptise his son. A lot of people told us that baptism would never happen, so it was cool to see the lord change the whole family of Jesus. I just love baptisms! We also received transfers! I am staying one more transfer with a new comp. I'm pretty sick of the drama Papantla has, but im exited. My new comp is pretty cool. So to celebrate surviving this crazy week, I made Root Beer floats! That made my whole mission better!

My spiritual thought today comes from a talk by Hyram Smith(not Joseph's brother). It talks about the importance of change. God wants us to change, if we don't, we aren't growing. So how can we change? Through the help of our spiritual eyes. We have to first identify what we want to change. Then we have to make our vision specific. After we do those 2 things it gets fun! After that we have to make affirmations for our self, to build our self value. For instance, if I want to improve my teaching skills, an affirmation would look like this. "I teach with power and authority, because I am prepared through my diligent scripture study." So every night you have to say your affirmation out loud, and visualize yourself doing the thing you want, how you want. You have to visualize it in the first person, and feel the emotions that come from it. And in time you will change to be who you are seeing! You might be wondering, "does that work?" It can't be that simple. But it is! It is like the brother of Jared when he was building the boats. The lord didn't just tell him I'll give you light. He told the brother of Jared to do something first. And then the brother of Jared used his spiritual eyes to find the rocks. And after he brought something to the Lord first, then the Lord touched the rocks, changing them so they could have a better purpose. Thats what we need to do. Bring ourselves to the Lord, so he can touch us. And through his atonement we will change. But I sure love being out here, and I am pumped for this next transfer! I hope you guys all have great weeks!
