Transfers
Buenos dias todos! This week was thr last week of the transfer! President was going to be gone today, so we had transfers last Saturday. It was pretty crazy. I was really looking for some change because i've been im this area for 3 transfers now. So I either wanted a new comp, or a new area. Thursday we got the news that I would be staying with my same comp. That was a little bit of a bummer to hear, but i've gotten over it. At least I get to stay and Baptise Keidy! She is amazing! She has wanted to get baptized for a whole year, but her parents wont let her. The good thing is that she turnes 18 this month! She also asked me last transfer if I could baptise her! I am honestly really excited for that! Even though at first I was sad about my transfer, now Im looking forward to it. I'll learn a lot of lessons I need to.
Tuesday we did divisions with Zamora! I went with Elder Rodarte in Zamora. I honestly love that place it's next to the beach, and river, so it's extremely pretty! The only thing is that it was pooring rain. As we were walking to a members house Elder Rodarte casually told me there was going to be a hurricane today. When we got to the members house he confirmed my comps words. There was a hurricane comming. As we were talking the storm was getting pretty bad, so we went to the church to wait out the storm. Thats all it was, luckily the hurricane never came. It was just funny.
Wednesday was pretty rainy as well. It honestly is so hard to work when it rains here. Papantla literally turns into a ghost town! People won't even answer there doors. Members or nonmembers. It just gets to cold for them. So we ate, and planned for an activity that we were doing on Friday. Then in the evening we went to the church to play chido ball with the youth! It was a huge hit! All of the youth were involved, and we had a great time. After that I went on divisions with Elder Albertsen. He is a stud! He is 6,5 so you can imagine how many funny looks we get when we walk down the street.
Thursday me and Elder Albertsen got a lot done! We did interviews for some of the elders who had baptisms this week, contacted, and taught some good lessons. In the night we went with these non members. One of them is very ignorant, but funny. He went to the Mexican MTC when it was a school, has shaken hands with prophets, read the Book of Mormon, Miracle of forgiveness, and has gone to church for a lot of his life. But he isn't married, and doesn't see a need to join the Church. He also gave us a 10 min lecture on how we need to be examples as misioneros, and how we need to bring inactivos back to church. It was interesting, and literally 10 min. I timed it. After the lecture we switched back comps, and got transfer news. I asked my comp how he felt about this transfer, and he told me he thought it was unsuccessful like all of his other transfers. That made me laugh because we had 3 baptisms, and our zone has 14 right now, when Papantla usually has about 3-5 baptisms. But we got home and told everyone about there transfers.
Friday we had our last district meeting, and we all said our goodbyes.
Saturday was sweet, but crazy! We were running around all day becasue of transfers. We did find this girl named Shari! We were walking, and I just felt like I needed to knock on a door that i've already knocked. The last time I got rejected, so I wasn't expecting much. A girl walked out, and told us she was interested in our message, but wanted us to come back in an hour. So we did! We taught her about thr Book of Mormon, and she was really intrigued by it! It was incredible! It is just such a good book! After the lesson we ran around more getting everyone to there right area's and everything. It was pretty fun. Saturday was an awesome day!
Thats about it for the week! I realized that for this next transfer I really want to study Faith, Hope, and Charity! It's pretty clear in the BOM that whoever has those attributes will be happy, and return to God! So if you are having a hard time right now I advise you to study those things! I sure love you all, and hope that your weeks go well!
