Keep The Commandments Prosper In The Land
Hey everyone! This week was jammed packed full of miracles for our Zone! It was absolutely Incredible! And I am so thankful for the hand of God in all of it!
Tuesday we had an Area 70, come for MLC, because he was the former mission President in Cancun. I was pretty ready to get scolded the whole time, but it honestly turned out to be really good! Normally durring MLC we just get told what we need to do better, but no one ever gives us a plan on how we can be better. But this time Elder Reynoso gave us both. It turned out to be super good, and inspiring. We are making a lot of changes in the mission, and just from this week, we have seen results!
Wednesday we went on exchanges with Elder Escárzaga, one of my best friends in the mission! He is the AP right now so we had a good time. He is also cousins with my comp, so all 3 of us together was absolutely a blast! We went to a cita with someone who had been taught for a year and a half, but can't get baptized because her Mom won't give her permission. So we told Escárzaga to just flat out ask the Mom why her daughter isn't baptized. He did, and it led to such a sweet lesson! We explained what baptism is, and why her daughter needs it now. We ended the lesson with giving the Mom the commitment of going to church. She would have to sacrifice so much to go, she excepted! It was crazy! Such a miracle!
The next day we gave our consejo to the Zone, about what we learned at MLC. And everyone got super excited and pumped to get to work! It was so cool to see! The best part is that everyone started applying what they learned! And we saw the results! The Zone put 9 fechas together, in just 3 days! It was incredible! The Lord has just been pouring down blessings on us! That night we did divisions with Voladores, to finish out the day!
Friday was packed full of miracles! Absolutely jammed packed! Me and Elder Hernández went back to the family we taught with Escárzaga. We just talked to the mom for like 30 min, just laughing and having a good time. Then the spirit told me the time was right, so I sat them down so we could teach a lesson. Normally the Mom kindly says no, but this time she said, "Okay!" So we sat them down, and taught them the Doctrine of Christ. And the Mom was understanding everything really well. So we get done with the 5 steps, and I asked the Mom if she had any questions. She said no, everything was clear. So I then asked her if she wanted to be baptized. SHE SAID YES! I then was very clear in asking her if we had permission to baptize her daughter, and she responded with yes again! But the only thing is that she wants to go to her daughters baptism! Of course I agreed with the terms! So her daughter is getting baptized next Friday! She is literally a member, but now she can finally be baptized, and have the spirit! Missionaries have been trying to baptize this girl for over a year! So the fact that the Mom gave us permission was a huuugee miracle! But the fact that she wants to get baptized too, just knocked my socks off! God is just sooo good! And he can change the hearts of anyone!
Also with Sherey, we moved her baptism to this Tuesday! So please put Sherey, and Fernanda in your prayers, so that they can follow Christs example this week, and be baptized!
Saturday was pretty sweet as well! We had a Carne Asada with a really rich family and all the YSAs in the ward! It was so good, and sooo fun! We brought Sherey there, and everyone was really good to her, which is a missionary dream for friends in teaching! At first everyone was all on their phones, and that drove me nuts! So I whipped out my honorary Girls camp card that I earned from helping my Mom set up girls camp one time. Put everyone in a circle, and we all started playing the game signs, it was so fun! And everyone but 2 people weren't playing, so it was a success! We just laughed, and ate Incredible Carne Asada! It worked out so well that when Sunday came, we walked in the sacrament room, and Sherey was already there sitting next to 3 girls she met that night! That was another huge blessing we received!
That is about it for this week! But man there was just so many cool miracles that we saw! I just kept thinking of the scripture, "Keep the commandments, prosper in the land." That is the key to happiness, success, and a life filled with blessings from the Lord! He is so good, and just wants to bless us so bad! I love you all, and want to give a shout out to Owen! Happy Birthday Buddy! Love you so much! Also happy birthday to Collin Clegg! You're a stud! I love you guys so much, and hope you find rest in Christ this week!
