The Holy Land
Que tal todos! This week was really interesting, some might even say an adventure. So we will hop into it. But before shout out to Ryan for graduating Highschool! What a stud!
Tuesday was a pretty normal day, we had some cool citas and everything. We were kinda just saying goodbye to everyone, because it was likely that my comps were going to leave the area. Well in the night the APs called me, and told me I had a zoom meeting I had to go to. So that night I hop on Zoom, and only my generation was on the zoom meeting. President then told us he was going to put us with people who had the potential to train, because there was not enough trainers for when we leave, and a group of 22 comes in. He also said some I remember liked. He said," you guys are good Elderes because early on in your mission you learned how to forget about yourself. Don't loose that this transfer. The next time you can think about yourself is when the lady on your plane asks if you want coke or sprite." I'm sticking to that! 6 more weeks of pure chamba! After he said that we got our transfers. To my surprise I was leaving, and sanchez was staying! He is with my other son actually. But I was going to Vega de alatorre. Zone Martinez! It's literally the Holy land! The members are so sweet! And you can baptized on the Playa! I couldn't sleep during the night I was so pumped!
Wednesday we got up, and said goodbye to our district. It was really sad, this has been the best district in my mission! After we said goodbye to the rest of the members. There so good here. Guillermo gave me a dollar from Jerusalem, and I gave him a tie! He is amazing, I hope for the best!
Thursday was also sweet! I traveled 5 hours to Martinez, and then stayed the night with the ZLs. Vega is 2:30 hours away from Martinez, so it's tough to get there. But in the night I went with Gladys! It was so good to see here, and chat with her for a bit. She is doing super well! It was a great way to start the transfer!
Fridays was a pain! Getting to an area and house that I have never seen before, and not getting lost with busses at the same time was tough. And during that whole time the Elderes before us made the land lord mad, so the secretary told us we will have to clean, and move apartments as soon as we can did not help the situation. While we got on the first buss, the buss driver tried to scam me by telling me I had to buy 3 tickets because we had bags. I was not having it, so I talked to the other worker, and he let us in with only paying 2 tickets. We finally got there, and it's sweet!the people are just different here. A super funny member called us and told us he needs 7 BoMs, because he has handed 427 BoMs since the pandemic. Another random person came up to us, and told us they want to be baptized! And then there is Hna Perfecta! The most powerful lady in all of Nautla( a city about an hour away!) When we met her the first thing she said was, "the stake president told us we need to bring at least one soul to God a year. We'll I've brought a ton!" And she has! She literally will go door by her self to find people! She is incredible!
Sunday was cool too! The same member who hands out books of Mormon is absolutely a beast! He pulls up with like 8 people in his truck to church! 3 were not even members! Then hermana Perfecta comes in, and brings her whole village of all the people who she helped get baptized, and non members! Everyone here is just incredible! Also my comp is another Gringo who is about as tall as me, so we stick out. It's so funny! He is a stud, and a hard worker, I am just so excited for this transfer. I have 6 weeks to just grind, and make a difference.
I really have been touched with how many faithfully missionarys there are here. This branch seems to have a fire! It inspires me to be a missionary, and see how much of a difference we do make in the life's of others. God really is so good, and we are in his church. That is something I know, and gives me confidence that I am doing what is right! I sure love you guys, and I can kinda say that I will see you soon!
